I'm guessing it will probably hit 100 million between 11:00 AM and 3 PM EST today.

Seems the contest helped Apple get to 100MM a lot quicker than they normally would have. If they reach it today, which seems very likely, that would mean 5 million songs in about 1.5 weeks.

you sound surprised? thats the only reason they had this contest... to sell mass songs.

Are you asking if I sound surprised? If you are, I can't say myself but I can say that I'm not surprised. I was merely pointing out the obvious, i.e., doing Captain Obvious' job if you will.

100 000 000 and they haven't even launched in Canada. If they hit a billion without being in Canada I think I'm gona cry...

Most people download the songs they've always wanted immediately after downloading iTunes, so the first 100 million were downloaded a lot faster than the next 900 million...so you might be looking at 15 years .

I wouldn't be surprised if it takes Apple that long to get into Canada... which is really to bad because crappy stores like Puretracks are already here, as are Sony.

Canada's population is smaller than alot of US states. I don't think the addition of Canada will make much difference.
