Gemini--Yeah, I don't like the heat either; I found that running in the rain is great in the summer--instant cooling!
My dogs are smart about the heat. Whenever we pass a stream they wade right in.
Paully Dub-I like hiking in NH as well...haven't been there this summer yet, but hope to. Black fly season should be over by now (the miserable critters). The mountains of Franconia Ridge are really beautiful on a clear day. It's quite a workout for the knees coming down from there, though.
Yose--cool that you bike to work. I used to, but haven't found a safe enough route to my current job. Nice to be able to sail every evening, too. It must be great to live that close to the ocean.
