Well, I guess the answer should be yes then.

Like I already said, Apple is already shipping it too, not just MacMall (and others).
Actually, the front page states (quoted):
"Expected to be officially launched on April 29th, one MacNN reader forwarded shipment confirmation from the Apple Store. The documents showed a delivery date of April 25 via Fedex Ground--well ahead of the official release date next week (orders with expedited shipping may have earlier delivery dates)."
To me that means home users.

So then people would believe somebody else who supposedly has the retail copy in hand already? Maybe we need DNA evidence/30-page photo album to support that somebody does indeed have the actual retail DVD in hand...
72% printer drivers installing...estimated time to finish is 29 minutes...
In the mean time...check out this thread...pics and everything....not mine (don't have camera

Apparently the NDA doesn't officially lift until the 29th. Mind you, NDA or not, there is good reason now to allow support threads, since end users who have it in hand aren't under NDA.

You shoulda checked the Tiger broken apps thread. It's mentioned there. ARD 2.2 solves that problem, but it's not out yet.
P.S. OS backups are good before any update, especially a new OS install.

It might have been wise to wait for Remote Desktop 2.2.

It has been posted on numerous sites that the current version of RD was not going to be able to run on 10.4 and that Apple was going to be releasing RD 2.2.

Now you tell me...just kidding...I read that but I completely forgot in the excitement. So now I have to look for a version of VNC that works in Tiger...
Other than that, it looks pretty cool. I have to finish work before I can play with all the new features...Spotlight says that it will take 9 hours to index my drives. I think I will wait till I leave then let it do it overnight.
Dashboard is just what I expected.
Safari is very Snappy (sorry, I couldn't help myself).
I have to find some h.264 material to test QT7 although my card will not be able to use Core Image/Video (not supported).

You are right...I was making a general comment about my video card.
Anybody know of real good h.264 material to test. Trailers? or Free stuff...nobody is left at the office so pron would also be good...

I just ordered today with Saturday delivery. I know its a big chance, but I had to take it. |
Some people have been reporting on Macfixit that PC Mall has been calling them and asking to return their copy of Tiger so that they could ship it back to them on the official release date. So it's possible that you may not get it early.

I actually mentioned that a few days ago.
Don't worry, RD 2.2 is already for sale at apple but not download.

There better be an update for this (and I mean free one)...having to spend another $500 just because I updated with what I would call a very minor update is beyond me. I will return to 10.3.9 and stay there and only be out $119 instead of $500.

I can't see Apple charging for it, they are probably just waiting for the official release of tiger.
