I just had to share. I've had a string of bad luck with a 2400c I had so I bought a cheapo "parts machine" off of eBay awhile back and thought it'd be good to change out the boards…

Tried SCSI probe, but it looks as if the drive isn't connected at all.
Drives generally have a variety of jumper-controlled …
Check the power connector for cracks in the solder to the pcboard. Check the voltage at the drive under load if possible or atleast check to see if there is a voltage dip when runn…
The capacity of the drives do not really equate to power consumption.
Personally I would connect them to a known good computer/enclosure and test them like that as well as check t…
What are the GB sizes of the drives in the order that you replaced them?
It is possible that there isn't enough electrical power to run the drives or there is a problem with the p…
Great, thanks for the responses. I will open up the SE tomorrow and attempt the transplant. I expected that I'd need the SCSI cable from the Classic II, so I've held onto that an…
System6+Vista,
Adding a SCSI HD to a dual 800K floppy SE is easy. I've done it before with mine, but I ended up with some obstacles. For one, the SE didn't have the SCSI ribbon …
I have a mac cube that ran fine for about a year and the hd failed so I put a drive I pulled. this drive worked for a couple of months and it started having problems it would spoo…

You can just ditch the resistors and use rear window defogger paint you know.
Also trace pens or whatever they are called. Can't get em where I live though. >_>
I ended up overclocking it to 400 mhz, I didn't try 433 because I didn't want to risk messing up soldering twice if it didn't work.

Porter's question is a particularly relevant one. The Mac Plus does not supply termination power. Termination resistors perform two functions -- they reduce transmission-line refle…
