Upgrading Performa 6360 processor... — #8

There are rumours that the Sonnet 7200/4400 G3 upgrade - that actually goes into a PCI slot - has been made to work in other machines. IIRC, someone on the 6400zone forums got it …

Kurzweil K150fs - anybody use a ][ for SMP? — #6

I don't know if an emulator might work. Hal said he thought it wouldn't wouldn't. A few years back I did try two of the more popular emulators with no success. And I have been told…

Help getting System 7 on to Floppy with Windows — #4

Does that one SE have a SuperDrive floppy or is it 800K? If it's SuperDrive, then you will save yourself half the battle; 800K floppies can be done, but you'll run into many brick…

][ screen font — #5

I'm not sure which "look" I prefer. I mostly used Apple with monochrome monitors, so I recall the spacing. However, when using Apple2Forever, the large gaps detract some from the…

Upgrading Performa 6360 processor... — #7

Also in those machines, you can't run any of the good versions of OS X because of the CPU soldered to the motherboard. OS X can't see any CPU installed beyond the one onboard on th…

][ screen font — #4

The "visible scan lines" on most emulators are overblown, and in general I keep effects like that turned *off*. First off old monitors, especially color monitors, tended to have b…

Upgrading Performa 6360 processor... — #6

I just swapped in a 6500/250 in my 6360 a few years back. Makes one heck of a "bookshelf server," replacing my old SE/30. The Apple TV card + remote was just an added bonus!

][ screen font — #2

The AppleColor monitor for the IIgs does not have distinctly separate scan lines.

I seem to remember the old Apple monitors having visibly separated scan lines. Can anyone confirm? The thrust of my question is to determine if A2like or Apple2Forever is a bette…

My System Folder Disappeared! — #4

I'm running 6.0.8. I don't think it's in the Trash (no bulge) but I'll check. I did delete the old System Folder so I could reinstall 6.0.8 with the SE/30 specific files (It had …

Kurzweil K150fs - anybody use a ][ for SMP? — #5

The links I found seem to indicate you can run it from inside an emulated Apple, if it can access the serial ports. Maybe a IIe PDS card even? BTW, you've inspired me to do somet…

What System version are you running? Systems 7.0 and 7.0.1 had a disappearing folder bug which was fixed in System TuneUp 3.0 and Systems 7.1 and later.

Mac SE/30 more than 8MB dirty ROMs? — #4

LCGuy is correct on that. IIfx ROM-SIMMs are 32-bit clean. The only issue you'll have is a bit longer of time to startup the SE/30. Sometimes it can vary depending on how much R…
