I haven't specifically killed a Pismo, I killed a Classic 2 and PB 150, by rushing, which you and I alike have done. I know nothing about Pismo's save for that they are nice powern…
Tried the PRAM reset again, no dice. I suppose the disk drive could be bad, but its not even hitting once. It's like the system is just sitting there waiting for something.
Make sure you get at least to the third chime when resetting the PRAM. Not everything is reset only on the second chime.
We also can't rule out a bad floppy drive. Do you have a…

Already tried resetting the PRAM (got the second Chime) and reseating all the RAM and the ROM. Nothing. I have a disk in the drive, that's what I'm trying to boot from, but it ne…
I've heard that you can use two normal terminators in a row and it acts similar to a black terminator on the IIfx. I don't have a citation for this though.

I was under the impression that the IIfx had NO electrolytics on the logic board. I could be wrong, but that's what I seem to remember. I know for sure that the Quadra 700 doesn'…

Well, I seem to have had a triple-biorhythm low kind of day on Saturday - either that or I was just stupid! Managed to lose my glasses AND fry one of my Pismos, all within two hour…

Leaking capacitors do not usually explode; they usually leak a barely visible (as in, transparent) conductive liquid which spreads widely, being oily.
The solution to this is (a) …

What do you think, Bunsen? Does this post warrant being changed to a sticky or should I send you a revised post with all the info needed? Let me know via PM, please.
Thank you.

In what ways, specifically, did the G5 outperform the mini? I don't think anybody actually said that things which were completely disk-bound would be better on a mini, although I d…
I just installed 8.6 on a spare hard drive that I put into my G4 Sawtooth, It now Quad-boots into any of the following:
- Ubuntu 6.10
- Mac OS X 10.1.3
- Mac OS 9.2.2
- Mac OS 8…
Can you explain a bit more? I'm not sure what you mean by 'wash the logic board' (unless you mean physically cleaning it with some sort of cleaner).
Tempest
This behaviour sounds just like that of my 840av before I washed the logic board. (I know, it needs new caps really.) Much a-goo about everything, as it turned out, though on first…

I figured I'd better start a different thread about this issue as the monitor thread wasn't really appropriate. If the mods feel otherwise feel free to close this thread.

Yeah I'm still having problems with the booting. I put new batteries in it and get the starting chime, but nothing after that other than a click or two. I tried resetting the PRA…
I read on here a couple of months ago from one of the resident technologoi that the termination supplied by later 50-pin scsi drives is usually sufficient for a IIfx; the black ter…

Woah, that is a crazy amount of OSes. I like the trick of having two per partition to avoid having an unmanageable number of them.
My PC has 10.5, 10.6 and Win XP all installed to…
