Thats not a ROM and no mine does not. Like all production TAMs the ROMs are soldered in.
It's not a rom simm , it should be cache card, which with a G3 upgrade should be removed. Maybe that's why it was put away and didn't work in the first place.

Good theory on the ROM with startup chime. I can not say, but falen5 I think has the skills to swap ROM chips if needed.
