3400 board question... — #7

That's certainly a cheap fix. Be patient with the teardown, and keep track of your screws. BTW, in case it wasn't clear from LC_Guy's reply above, the "Kanga" G3 Powerbook logic …

Sawtooth in a B&W case — #3

If you want to make a trip down to Deptford I have a B&W board with a 400mhz chip you can have for free. I have a power supply too if you want it.

3400 board question... — #6

Thanks for everyone's comments. I think I'm ready to pull the switch on this! I will check and see if they have the 240mhz board; but for $20 + ship, the 200 may be the most cost-e…

G3/500 vs. G4/400 in B&W — #10

Good point, I had already tried it in the beige, though. It didn't seem break anything. I can't think of anything I did to mess up the B&W when installing the G4. When I w…

3400 board question... — #4

3400 board question... — #3

Sawtooth in a B&W case — #1

Anybody ever try putting a Sawtooth motherboard in a B&W case? Since it looks like the motherboard in my B&W is dead, I'm thinking it would make more sense just to…

G3/500 vs. G4/400 in B&W — #9

I suppose it's just speaking the obvious to point out it'd probably be a bad idea to put that G4 module into your beige machine, unless you're willing to take the risk that it'll m…

G3/500 vs. G4/400 in B&W — #8

At this point, I'm at a bit of a loss about what to do. My two choices seem to be either to try and grab a cheap releacement motherboard (preferably a rev2 to replace the current r…

3400 board question... — #2

I can't see why not - it was never an official upgrade, but all the other parts should be the same.

Mylar Capacitors — #2

Well I think I just found the answer, it is definitely due to size. These things are absolute barrels for the capacitance that we need. http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searc…
