Distorted Pismo Screen stumper — #4

If this is an LVDS display ( dont know if it is or not), the gamma correction IC on the t-con likely failed.

Distorted Pismo Screen stumper — #1

I’ve been trying to reassemble at least one working Pismo from a collection of parts able to make one great unit and one functional unit—in theory. The machines belonged to a clien…

Arabic Script — #3

The font aspect I know is possible (in theory), though I'd have to track down my research on the font templates. At the time, this predated my use of emulators, so I had no deve…

I can't believe there'd be ingest on this list, and my research (years ago) never led me to conclude it's necessarily possible... By this I meant handwriting recognition sorry. A…

PB 1400 memory issue detected — #6

It's that lousy connector. I have a Gateway Solo 9200 (PII@266MHz) which all the boards (Video, I/O, CPU, HD, Power) are sandwiched together by these connectors. It took a nasty fa…

PB 1400 memory issue detected — #4

Yup, about mid-way. I would assume this could happen with an upgrade card when a driver loads. But odd on stock hardware. So not sure. It detected the defect and did not use the RA…

PB 1400 memory issue detected — #3

It said something about detecting a hardware defect later in the startup process? I'm intrigued now... how did it say it?
