Do you have Microsoft Office installed? You probably have at least the trial version. If so, use Microsoft Word.

If you mean a new intel mac, you should have a free 30 day trial of pages under iwork 06 in Applications.

To save money? No need for a spare PC to run software Windows-only if you can do it on your Mac.

If like me, you happen to be involved with engineering and electronics pretty much 100% of all the applications that I need to run for this purpose are Windows only.
