Lombard processor upgrade — #1

I am running OS X on my PB G3 Lombard and it needs a G4. I know there are upgrades for it out there, but I can't find one for the life of me that wouldn't require a government bai…

Mac Hut is back — #1

So you are probably wondering "what is Mac Hut". Mac Hut is an archive of older 68K and PPC Macintosh software I started in 2005. It went offline in 2007, but now it's back. About…

B&W G3 case fan + PSU fan replacement? — #2

I think it would make more sense to get a new 120mm fan instead, though I've read the B&W G3 uses a 2-pin connector not the normal 3 pin. Click to expand... Two pin con…

I would like to make my B&W G3 near-silent, like my iMac. I know it's possible, but I am curious to see if anyone else on here has performed this procedure. This guide tak…

7zip for classic Mac OS? — #9

I come to the conclusion that 7z decompression is only possible in OSX. LZMA is a open source algorithm so its not impossible to write a archiver even for system 6-9.

7zip for classic Mac OS? — #8

Unarchiver doesn't support all the features of 7zips anyway, like passworded archives. Better than having to use command line 7z for everything, though.

7zip for classic Mac OS? — #4

It's open-source, so it could theoretically be gotten to build somehow on a classic Mac. Your best bet is probably to decompress on a modern Mac or PC and then transfer the decomp…

AFAIK, the 7-zip format (.7z) was only made available when the 7-Zip program in Windows was introduced. I doubt that there's anything available that supports that compression form…
