Can 8500 do 8 — #10

You mean Mac OS 8? Sure. A 9600 can even still do 7.x, the last Power Mac that could. Click to expand... The 9600 requires 7.6.1. You can't even use a 7.6 install disc, it has …

Can 8500 do 8 — #9

My 8500 (RIP) did very well with 8.1, 8.6, and 9.1. Did badly with 8.5 and 9.0.4. I would probably recommend 8.6.

MacOS 9.1 vs Ubuntu 9.10 — #13

MacOS 9.1 vs Ubuntu 9.10 — #9

The biggest problem I had was in copying the kernel and ramdisk from the installed system to the Mac OS partition. I didn't have a small HFS partition and Linux can't write to HFS+…

Sonnet upgrades and 9.2.x — #4

Ah, good. 9.2.2 is needed for the last update to the ATi drivers so I just hoped it could be done. I've also heard that 9.2.x is faster than 9.1. So now I just have to get OS9Helpe…

Sonnet upgrades and 9.2.x — #3

My 9500 and 9600 both have Sonnet G4/800 cards and work just fine in 9.2.2. Also have a G3/450 in an 8600/200 that works fine in both 9.1 and 9.2.2.

Sonnet upgrades and 9.2.x — #2
