I've had the same problem a couple times. I let the battery run down and it was fine afterwards. By the way....the font you are using is way too big.

update on this... i left my iPod downstairs playing a tv show that i downloaded and after the show was over my iPod turned off without the battery having to run all the way down.

ok this sucks! i wont turn off again. i dont want to keep on dealing with this. would it be better to just send it back the manufacturer?

Try restoring (reformatting) it with the iPod Software Updater before doing anything else.

if it's happening while plugged in, try unplugging or plugging into another outlet, i had this issue with a friend's mini the other day.

Reset it and then try.

Sometimes iPods need to be reset multiple times before they actually reset. Try the restore, and if that does not work take it in.
