Got some spare PowerMac's? — #8

I stand corrected. I forgot when they started that the Xserve was stuck with G4 chips, so they made their system out of Power Mac G5s and then later upgraded to Xserves when they t…

Wow, I had not seen the AppleCrate before. That is really something. There was a time when this AppleSeed was really useful - you might remember when Virginia Tech made a supercomp…

266MHZ Beige G3 mini tower buildup — #29

Really? I know that some came with SCSI CD-ROM drives, but I would've thought that they all would have shipped with IDE hard drives, because of how expensive SCSI drives were.

Got some spare PowerMac's? — #5

I would only bother doing it because I would like to see if it would benefit my 733MHz quicksilver if I put a 450MHz AGP Graphics G4 with it, I doubt though because it has only 100…

266MHZ Beige G3 mini tower buildup — #25

Never had any problem booting mine from ATA. I've had all three revisions here, and the 8GB limitation applies to all of them.

I set it up like you said, 80 gb drive as master on primary bus, dvdrw as master on secondary bus with the os9 drive as slave to the cd drive. I made two partitions on the 80gb, on…

iMac G3 sound too loud — #3

Hmm, forgot to mention I'm using 9.2.2. Other than using external speakers through the headphone jack, I'm coming up short.

iMac G3 sound too loud — #2

Seems to me all G3 macs have their sound over the top, it is annoying. The only thing I would suggest is Hear, but I don't know if that works on Tiger.

iMac G3 sound too loud — #1

My Blueberry G3's sound is entirely too loud, even on the lowest volume setting. Any way to get it quieter? I have to turn the sound down on each program, which is annoying, and an…

G4 Mini going to OSX after linux — #13

I got one of my friends to tell me how he did it with his G4 iBook. He had to boot into Open Firmware and run a command to do it, but it (USB DVD-ROM) worked.

G4 Mini going to OSX after linux — #12

Everything I've read says they wont. Only the intel ones. I'll just snag a firewire cable this weekend and try disk mode on my G3 if I can get THAT to boot OSX......

G4 Mini going to OSX after linux — #11

Plenty of G4s will boot from USB, although none of the Power Macs will IIRC. It's worth a shot on the mini.

G4 Mini going to OSX after linux — #10
