So did you get the 840AV - hows it look?
I'm pretty sure I've a 32MB EDO SIMM in my 840AV - it won't hurt - give it a shot - but ideally you should go for FPM. ECC EDO RAM def…

The traditional way to prevent cracks from going further is to drill a small hole at the end of the crack. Not flash, but will save the plastic from further cracking.

Well I got a bunch of memory on craigslist the other day for REALLY cheap. Guaranteed to work or my money back. They're 72pin 60ns SIMMs, but they're EDO, and I wanted to make sure…

I would place my bet on one of the following:
PowerBook 190, 5300, 3400, and (judging by what I have read here lately) the G3 "Kanga."
As far as I know, some 190 and 5300 RAM mod…

Hi there! I think both of the following are for older PowerBooks, but I don't know what kind would use them!
First one is below. Has "A 8Mx64 EDO 3V 120 Connector" on it and some …
As far as I know, the memory check can't be turned off in the Memory Control Panel on a Quadra. I seem to recall that it requires a PPC and MacOS8 — possibly 8.5 or 8.6. It require…

The eMac 9.2.2 disc is a good one. The version I have has Mac OS ROM 10.1.1, which is one of the highest versions. I don't think any bootable, 9.2.2 install discs have the higher 1…

I've forgotten the difference between the 64K ROMs. It was something very minor to do with the ROM debugger IIR (we were hoping for a fix for >512K of RAM of course).

Turns out that the iMac G5 is 1.8GHz/1GB RAM/160GB HD/CD-RW with a 128MB Radeon 9600 graphics card and Leopard Server.
The G4 was 933MHz/512MB/60GB/Combo Drive

Your 9.1 CD is probably a few months older than your G4, and it lacks some driver needed to boot the Mac. Similarly, my new Mini came with Leopard, but it won't boot from a 10.5.0 …

Mr T, it's quite likely the motherboard in your Mac is the original, though upgraded to 512K. The original boards were shipped in 128Ks even after the Fat Mac 512K was introduced. …
