Note that refers to the Powerbook G4 15" and 17", which I believe take the newer, smaller (but similarly shaped) power connector. So it may not be relevant to a 1400. By "outer se…

powerbook 1400 charger.. — #7

There is a somewhat obscure note on PowerBook power adapter sense circuits at http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2001/qa1266.html which specifies clearly where the +24V and Gnd conne…

Yeah 24 volt is right, just said 9 off the top of my head. I know a charger from a lombard will work though.

powerbook 1400 charger.. — #4

The chargers from the Powerbook Duo series will work also. They won't give you enough charge to both run the laptop and charge a flat battery at the same time, but you can do one …

powerbook 1400 charger.. — #3

The 'correct' charger is a Macintosh PowerBook 45W Power Adapter, M4896 (1996), 100-240VAC 1.2A in and 24VDC 1.87A out. The M3037 (1995) for a PB 5300 looks similar, and has a si…

That'd be an eMac. Probably with a burnt out analog board.

Is it an eMac? — #3

Yup. The corners are too square to be an iMac. You can also see part of the silver screw on the side of it.
