SATA to firewire is hard to find, because SATA is designed different way than ATA. I've seen many solutions which connects external SATA drive to a PCI card, but this is impossible…
I don't think the iMac G5 has an external SATA connection.
You do have 2 Firewire ports. If you need more ports, just add a Belkin Firewire hub.

the photo dock has an additional S-Video connector, and the regular docks don't. Otherwise, the dock for a 20GB 3rd generation iPod fits a 30GB iPod Photo just fine.
