yes they are supported, i saw it on apple's website, also it does work for me, however, not all contacts show the pics though, not sure why, strange, has to be a problem with itune…

The 10.4.3 update included an update to Address book.app...so...if one without Tiger had a copy of the new Address Book.app, they should be in business.
