Hi, I am running connected to an external display. I want to turn off the laptop screen and just use the external, can I do this? Its a 12" 1Ghz PB by the way.

Yes. And you need to do the Bluetooth Firmware Update in order for Bluetooth devices to be able to wake up your PB from sleep.
