You can't. It will only support one IDE device.
I had that same problem when I had a 6500. I tried to put a SCSI disk in the top bay, but it would overheat and unmount itself.

your main problem will be that the upper bay is not ventilated enough to run a hard disk. It will overheat. how much is dependant on how much you use the disk.
