Maybe luddite could write a bit about his Contiki experiences for us, and explain the differences between the 1.x and 2.x branches. I recently read something about 2.x being focus…

I've officially named her "Kiva", after the development codename for the last generation Summer 2001 750CXe based iMacs. Now I just need to pi…

Okay, I'm stumped on this one. I've torn apart my 350Mhz Idigo because I plan on robbing it for parts in case my 500, or another machine I'm hoping to get, goes down (hopefully not…

Except I don't believe it does multitasking, does it?

The iMac is reassembled and seems to be taking well to the new CRT. The logic board eventually came good after a few resets (and after properly attaching all screws, go fi…

Well, it looks like the fault is in the PAV board itself. Not dead, but still very weak.
Solution?
The "donor" system arrived today. It's an Indigo G3, case is pretty scuffed but…

Thanks for the links. I have no idea if I'll be able to pull it off or not. Looking around, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of success stories.
With more searching, I found t…

Urg, 6502 is one of the worst processors for C let alone UNIX. The size of the stack (256 bytes) is crippling. So you have to do the stack yourself. Also the 6502 has no virtual me…
Ok, now I'm just really pushing things here, aren't I? Aside from my project to write a network game for the Apple II, I also want to look into Unix or any other multi-tasking i…

Yes, when not discharged a CRT can hold up to 27,000 volts. However, there's also an even bigger risk of the CRT neck (which is VERY fragile!) being cracked or broken if handled in…
