install 75Gb IBM as slave drive in G4 — #7

I just put an IBM 30GB drive into my G4/400 and had no problems. It fit fine in the bracket on top of the Quantum. [Hey Apple, could you cut the ATA cables any shorter?!] The origi…

install 75Gb IBM as slave drive in G4 — #8

A little side-comment from the peanut gallery: The IBM hard disk you selected is an impeccable choice. They are extremely fast, large, but a bit expensive. I've had experience wi…

install 75Gb IBM as slave drive in G4 — #9

On a side note... I recall reading from xlr8yourmac that the Master runs a bit faster than slave. I say if you want to get the most advantage out of your GXP, make it master and ma…

Overclocking a very old machine — #1

I, soon, will overclock my beloved Quadra 630. The only things I've ever read about OCing a 630 is that it will only go to 40MHz. Is this true? That something just stops the 68040 …

Overclocking a very old machine — #7

Hey, has anyone here actually undertaken such a project? Removing the resistors requires two irons because they need to be lifted off from both sides. Has anyone here done this? Is…

Overclocking a very old machine — #8

I've done that mod, it was a pain. I used 1 iron and a pair of real thin needle-nosed pliers to remove the old resistors. It was a tad easyer than clocking my sawtooth G4.

I'm doing some tinkering with the keyboard usb ports, and was wondering if there's a way to get them to 'forget' the current they're limited to? I'm basicaly trying to make a 'k…

Keyboard/USB Hub Hack — #2
