G3's in the 450 range are very cheap. I would buy a used g3 1Ghz before I invested the same amount of money into a g4-500.
All in all I wouldn't bother with anything over a g3-450…
I think it would make more sense to get a new 120mm fan instead, though I've read the B&W G3 uses a 2-pin connector not the normal 3 pin.
