The biggest problem I had was in copying the kernel and ramdisk from the installed system to the Mac OS partition. I didn't have a small HFS partition and Linux can't write to HFS+…
I've had two Dell Optiplex GX1 desktop machines for a while that I have been wanting to upgrade and finally found two of these with 1.4ghz P-III's installed. Not Celerons like you …

Nothing too big but managed to pick up a power board for my 128k for $25 shipped. I made that bid a week ago and didn't think it would win, but I guess demand for these is slackeni…
I had a chance to grab a FW800 single 1ghz machine for $119 not long ago. That's less than I paid for my 533mhz DA a few years ago. I let it go because the shipping would have been…
I have used those kinds of batteries and holders on old PCs before, they work fine but all eventually leak. So I retrofitted quite a few machines to use coin type batteries (PCs) a…

As I suspected, the G4 (Sonnet Crescendo G4 800/1M) was only running at 450MHz, but after running the Sonnet enabler scrounged from another machine it now runs at 800. Much nicer,…

I've been replacing the 1/2 AA batteries with a two AA or two AAA battery holder held on with either double sided foam tape or hard locking tape for ages, like so:

Where did you get the 10 pack from?
I leave batteries in the units I use once in a while, but anything put into long term storage has the battery removed.
Do you have Graphing Calculator installed? If so, it will give an error when you open it on a 68k Mac. "Sorry, Requires Power Macintosh" or something to that effect.
