OS 9 and the PM 7300 Upgrade — #7

The later 604EV with full 1MB cache on the cpu card should give a g3 a good run for its money. I would think photoshop is limited by CPU cache along with bus speed bottlenecks.

Apple II Game Server, anyone? — #3

yeah, I was using the camera on my PSP, and I remember it telling me it ran out of space. If I had a bigger memory card, I would be able to do a longer version. As for the games, …

Apple II Game Server, anyone? — #2

Pretty cool, though the video cuts off early. Does the game server allow you to add your own games or is the list fixed?

OS 9 and the PM 7300 Upgrade — #6

Here's a little Photoshop comparison from BareFeats http://www.barefeats.com/Photo.html The single G3 300 easily beats even the dual 604e 200.

OS 9 and the PM 7300 Upgrade — #5

Even another 64MB or so of RAM will certainly help pick up the pace, and I second the call for maxing out the video RAM. OS 9.0.4 should be upgraded forthwith to 9.1, through the …

Also try testing the internal backup battery (silver disk). If you had dead AA batteries and were running on backup for a while you may have drained that as well.

OS 9 and the PM 7300 Upgrade — #3

Depends on the G3 you purchased and how much cache it has (512K or 1MB). To get a faster system you need more RAM, an ATA/66 IDE card or a fast wide SCSI card and some decent HDs. …
