Yeah they look like platinum, one is slightly yellowed. Also, one of them I sometimes need to smack a couple of times to get the crt on. Any ideas what the problem is? Just a loose connection?

Bad solder joints. There's a thread somewhere on here about that problem with some photos of which ones you'll want to freshen up.
