So the time finally came, after getting my gamecube I get the lovely opportunity, provided I pay a part of it, to get a new tv
Anyway, seeing as the prices came down a little (ok that's BS: companies just added a new "low end" to their lines), on Flat Screen Tube TVs, I'm tempted to get one...
The runners for this one so far are:
Toshiba 14" (part of AF43 series)
Truth be told I'd really love to get the 20" version but at the minute I just can't do that, besides it's still apparently an awesome screen. Bit much for a 14" though... but a whooping 3 AV, 1 svideo, and 1 RGB (what some people like to call component video) = fun... especially on a 14" - not to mention that screen is wonderfuly sharp.
Sanyo 20"
After seeing this I was surprised at the price - I remember hearing about these before and know SOMEONE around here has one - how are they? Generally I assume any TV that can be purchased at walmart is crap. (The other thing that sucks is it only has 2 av inputs, no svideo or others I can think of).
Anything else under/around $150 anyone can name up? So far (seriously) the only one thing I like about the small toshiba is it's abundant amount of inputs, but meh if anyone has an experience they'd like to share.. name it!
Anyway reasoning is I'd almost happily pay for quality over quantity. There are, from my knowledge, at least a few 20"-25" TVs under 150, but the truth is they're.. just crud! Anything over 20" is inconvinient anyway though, being the way this house is, it has to easily sit on a table and the 50-60lb 20"ers that I listed just BARELY can.
One other reason I can't spend any more on it is obvious -- why? I'm not a big TV watcher, and so I might as well have something nice.. the 14" seems to have surprisingly decent sound for a 14" but I almost gag at the idea of a TV that small.
So the sanyo comes in, hehe.. but from my knowledge any cheap FST is probably a less-round CRT put behind a flat mask.. grrrr.
