I was hoping that someone with a newer model VW could do me a favor. My stock Monsoon stereo has some sort of anti-theft feature that I must have activated by accident. It reads "SAFE" when I turn it on and then lets me change some sort of code but begins with the number 1000.
I cannot find my users manual and there is no pdf copy of it online. Can someone who has this kind of stereo do a quick check and let me know how to get my stereo back to being a stereo?

Thanks
Call the local VW dealership service department in your area. They will be able to give you the code.
return the stereo. no questions asked
check vwvortex.com.
You need to take it somewhere so they can pull the radio out. your radio code is on the back of your radio

Now wouldn't that completely negate the anti-theft aspect of a radio code?

It is not stolen. It came with the car when I bought it 1.5 years ago. I just must have pushed something that turned it on or there must have been some kind of error that set it off.
If anyone has thier manual handy can they please look and see what it says regaurding the situation? I left mine at my parent's house.

Usually these codes are triggered by the radio losing power, ie disconnecting the battery or radio from the car. Call the dealership, they will run your VIN and make sure that it has not been reported stolen (car and radio) and give you the number and instructions to unlock the radio. Write the number down in case your battery ever dies.
This happened to my sister. She had to go back to the dealer to get the code entered again. BTW, the dealer should have given you a little card with the code on it when you bought the car. Good luck!
dealer can definately do it, but i think that the 4 digit code should be in your glovebox
The anti-theft code is NOT on the radio. It is based on the serial number of the radio and tracked to your VIN. You may need to GO to the dealership with proof of registration or title to get the code, but the dealer will have it.
