Aluminium PowerBook G4 won't turn on

So I got this Aluminium PowerBook G4 (A1106). I replaced the hard drive, and afterwards it turned on but displayed the folder with a question mark/Finder logo. I thought that perhaps I needed to press C to boot from the Leopard DVD in the drive, so I turned off the machine. I haven't been able to get it boot since.

Any ideas?

So when you press power, nothing at all?

Did you try a PRAM reset?

I managed to get it work :)

Putting Leopard on a USB SD card reader right now!

I can't get it to boot from the USB SD card reader :(

Any thoughts?

did you go into open firmware and try the command boot ud:, \\:tbxi? if you can't read that command here it is in slightly more legible font

boot ud:, \\:tbxi

It doesn't work. It says

can't OPEN: pci2/ata-6@D/@0:3,\\:tbxi
Can't open device or file
ok

.

Getting PPC systems to boot from USB is a crapshoot, it varies from model to model. Doing it with an SD card is probably impossible.

Leopard is installing from a DVD!

Sent from my PowerBook G4!

Good for you!
