http://hdloader.com

You buy and install a normal Hard Drive into your PS2 (which it formats in its own way - so it can't be used in place of the official Sony PS2 HD )

Then you get the Disc from the link above and load your games on to the HD - you can then run your games of the HD without changing discs.

Alas - it will Fail DNAS tests - so you cannot use the on-line part of games when they are loaded via the HD.

Just loaded Rez , WipeOut Fusion and Vice City on to mine

[edit] - oh yes, and it reduces load-times.
umm.... doesn't this pose piracy issues?

The HDLoader only installs valid PS2 disks.

Of course if your PS2 is modded then you can install burnt games.

And I suppose I could load rental games on too.

So - Yes and no. I suspect they'll be shut down by Sony before too long (like the Nintendo vs. Lik-Sang.com GBA ROM Flasher affair.)

I personally don't have a modded PS2 and have bought every game I have.

But it's certainly nice to be able to use the PS2 like a Jukebox.
Interesting.

i thought this was a gadget to REPLACE the HDD.

WHile it is, you can also use your official Sony HDD.

Might be a neat idea! although I only play like 4 games on my PS2 and one is FFXI and that never goes off.

EDIT scratch that...MVP 2005 and Karaoke Revoltuion don't work with it....
Sounds pretty cool. Especially for extending rental times. Stupid Blockbuster late fees!
