That's some impressive work there.

I'm taking my first semester of photography right now in summer school at a local college, and aside from the tediousness of development and printing, I'm certainly enjoying it. Will try to scan and upload some pictures at the end of the summer, all B&W though.
Nice pics. I'd love to take a summerschool class on photography, not much time, though. I wonder about an online class, although I wouldn't get the lab experience...anyone know of any?
Thanks. I think the best learning mode would be with the camera always with you, shooting around and join some photography contests
looks good. I've been doing convensional photography for five + years now and it is encouraging to see good B&W digital work being done.
very nice photos, and some great equipment!
i recently got the Nikon D70 and slowly learning the art. thanks for the inspiration!
I love B&W photography. Very easy, especially with a darkroom in my school.

I will try and scan some images in later.

what camera do you use? I was thinking of getting the Nikon FM3a for B&W film, would love a Leica M7 but way too rich for my blood.

I use both an Olympus OM-1 and the N80.

I should be getting the Rebel Ti any day now. Just waiting for my next paycheck. I'm pretty excited. It's a great cheap camera.
Both Nikon D70 and Canon 300D are nice cameras, that should bring you into a new world in photography. Enjoy.

Eh?
I have an ancestral version (the Rebel XS) of the camera you're getting, misc. You'll be happy. The only thing is that the lenses Canon includes with their cheap bodies are crap. Completely useless. They're not sharp, they have bad color rendition, and are very slow. The results look like they came out of a $50 point-and-shoot.

Once you add a proper lens, you will do fantastically well. I recommend a 50mm prime at 1:1.8 or 1:1.4 for starters. (I had a 1:1.8, but it broke. I need to get a new one!)

Umm, the Rebel Ti is a 35mm film camera. The 300D is sold here as the "Digital Rebel".

Do it. Buy the FM3. It's a fantastic camera. Or you could look for a used F3, the ultimate camera (in 35mm SLR that is).

Yeah, thats the reason I'm not getting the kit. The lenses included in the kits are for ****.

I'm getting the Sigma Zoom Wide Angle-Tele 28-135 f/3.8-5.6 with the camera and the Canon 75 - 300 f/4.0 - 5.6 IS in a few months.

Would you say that's true of all kits? I'm considering the Nikon D70 kit, but want a good lense to get started with.

What kit? And where are you getting it from?

Yep, that's the one. Thanks GoldenHammer (great pics btw!)

Any thoughts on getting the lens included with the kit or investing the $300 in another?

Word on the internet is that that is a half decent lens. If you have more than $1,300 to spend I would recommend buying the back and then buying a lens. Check out http://www.bhphotovideo.com
Great pictures, nice job.

You might think about someone proofreading of your text though.

Just a suggestion. Not trying to be mean.

The lens with the kit would be good for "everyday" shots. If you want some serious photo and try to challenge yourself for setting up nice composition, I would agree with tooki to get a 50mm prime lens as a start, the f/1.8 version is a nice lens at reasonable price.

If you want even more fun, consider the 45/2.8 P (manual only, but it is exceptional sharper).
thanks for the suggestions!
sweet panorama pic....i wish it could fit as a wallpaper....so awsome

keep up the good work!
