Every year, we wish each other a happy 4th. But we always forget the British. After all, without them, there would be nothing to celebrate.

So, Happy 4th of July Brits!

Yeah, but not before they managed to make us the most repressed culture on earth short of the middle east.

Puritanism: the haunting fear that somewhere, someone may be happy.
And for that you can blame Ben Franklin. He was the one responsible for making Puritan ethics secular.

Ah ****.
I went to the 4th of July celebration in Shanghai.

It amazes me that Americans can dance and have fun without drinking anything.
I don't know any other race of people that can do that.

They are very, very special.

Bye the way, the event was nicely coordinated with a tropical cyclone which blew a hotdog tent away.

Made my day.

I hate hotdogs.

It's amazing the legacy puritanism has left considering there was no shortage of strange religious groups that came to America to avoid persecution. BasketOfPuppies -- I've never heard that about Ben Franklin before?

Happy 4th everyone!
