Oh, the Barry Bonds "accomplishment", eh? Oh well, Rickey getting that mark was far more impressive seeing that Rickey actually had to earn the walks himself instead of Barry being walked intentionally...

If you think gorickey is sad, just imagine how bad gokermit has had it ever since The Walt Disney Company bought The Muppets just so Michael Eisner could show that he's doing big things.
a btw gorickey,

have you heard of the comedian David Cross? He 's very funny and has a bit part in one of his act about rickey henderson...about how rickey likes to refer to himself as a third person...

just wondering

The deal fell through. Disney doesn't own the Muppets. Jim Henson's heirs nixed the deal after he died.

gorickey hasn't heard of this comedian; however, are any of his bits online by chance?
I was at that game today. It's a shame he broke the record against Rickey's old team. (He's still entering the hall of fame as an Oakland Athletic... right?)

It was good to see "Balco" Bonds strike out swinging on his last at bat.

Someone hasn't been paying attention to the news. (Though it was Disney, not Jim Henson Productions, that ended talks las time.)

Boy... I really overshot it...with the 80.
Don't get the poor goricky reference. Good luck to Bonds.

gorickey's name is a tribute to Rickey Henderson(sp?), the guy who just lost the walk record to Bonds.

Earned walks? What an accomplishment!

Bonds is a steroid-pumped fake. Henderson had legitimate talent (but for walks? C'mon!).
his name is gorickey, not goricky.

Are you kidding?

It's definitely a talent to say the least. A gift in the game of baseball, especially for a lead-off hitter, is the ability to take pitches. If you go up there hacking at the 1st pitch, you haven't seen what the pitcher has, and you sure as hell aren't making the pitcher throw more pitches. Rickey has always had the uncanny ability to take close pitches due to his batting stance and incredible eye at the plate. Most batters simply swing on a 3-2 pitch because they just think no matter what it will be a strike; however, those who can actually hold off on that pitch (Sammy Sosa, are you listening?) can fight it off as a walk (a so-called "earned" walk). Earning that walk then enables Rickey to get on base, then to steal, and then to eventually score. Hence, the all-time SB and runs scored records (and formally walk record)...

Last, but not least, Rickey's ability to amass the 2nd most walks of all-time while also grabbing over 3,000 hits is phenomenal and very rare. Even the "fake/steriod" abusing Bonds hasn't done that (yet). Nor, has Barry won a championship!
