150$ unopened 15gig Ipod?

I am NOT selling anything in this thead. I am curious as to the possibility/demand of selling something.

I am going to buy a 15 inch powerbook for college soon with my edu discount. Apple has a deal that if I buy a powerbook AND an iPod, I get a 200 dollar mail in rebate, essentially making the ipod 70 dollars (edu ipods=270$).

So if I sell the unopened ipod at 150 dollars, I would make a cool 80 bucks, and whoever buys the ipod would get a cheap ass unopened ipod.

I am posting this to see if there are any flaws in my reasoning (I am known for it), and if apple legal would get on my ass for quickly reselling it. Also, I am curious as if there would even be a demand for it...

again, I am not selling this. I am just wondering if this would work.

or... you could sell the unopened iPod for the going rate on eBay and make a cool $200. You'll learn that in college though.

Well you bought it, you own it. You can do whatever you want with it. You can sell it, smash it, melt it down, or even listen to to. Incidentally if you were to sell it for $150 I would gladly take it off your hands for you.

I'd sell it for whatever you could get for it and pocket the profit. But that's just me. You can be a nice guy if you want.

Remember though that if you do this you probably won't be able to sell it as "new sealed in box" -- yes the thing can still be sealed in box of course, but you have to cut the UPC off.

Thanks for the info. Now if I can just get another 270 (im already gonna pay 2500) for the ipod....maybe ill borrow the 200 of the 270 from my parents...
