I'm having real grief trying to register AppleCare on a new iBook we just bought at work.
The flaming website insists that the serial number I entered does not match Apple's serial number convention. It is the correct serial number, I've checked it on the box, on the machine and through System Profiler. Two other people have checked it too and it is correct dammit.
I am not phoning the buggers to register this one, the last time I called the Euro support number I got the overflow call centre in Bangalore or wherever the hell it is and it was a complete nightmare trying to get the problem I was having at that point resolved. After demanding to speak to a floor manager I got to speak to someone called 'Dalton', who oddly enough couldn't spell it when I asked him to.
Oh well, my account manager should be dealing with it now if he gets off his ass.
