NEW BMWs (ATT CA$H)

I read yesterday in the WSJ that BMW's sales were up 18% for the last quarter, looks like no matter how much you guys gripe Bangle is still making progress.

I don't have a link cause i read the newspaper but i am sure if you dig around you can find info on it.

Oh and they gave a lack luster review of the iBMW ipod control thingy.

I like some BMWs.. it's usually the owners that are bad.

You're wrong. He isn't making ANY progress, what's happening is that the general populace is getting DUMBER. The sad thing is nobody realizes this, and more and more people become mindless zombies programmed by what the TV says is cool. Bangle's designs are disgusting and incorrect.

99 is pre-bangle, so it's still tasteful. Please do yourslef a favor and do NOT become a born again car enthusiast like phantomdragonz, it gets really annoying.

Elaborate to us, or me, at least, about what is "incorrect" about Bangle's design? Beyond the trunk lid design, what design faux pas exist?

The new 5 grows on me, and I am certain that the new M5 will make me forget a trunk even exists.

But you do realize he does have a point, right? I mean, Bangle's designs are described as "flame-licked" and the lines all eventually point downward, crestfallen. The bigger picture is this: Humanity will go to hell in a BMW. Um, make mine a 500 hp M5, please.

And all because of the boob tube.

I was recently in LA, NYC, London & Paris and the only place I saw any numbers of new 7 series bimmers was in LA. No accounting for taste.

BMW makes extremely good performance cars but the exterior now matches the interior - absolutely crap

They're selling cars.

And the new 5-series is the first regular BMW since the late 70s that I actually like (apart from the Z3, which I liked at the time - it hasn't aged well, though -, and the Z4).

Not that I'd buy one.

I guess they found their market share, and as a business they are successful no matter how much you dislike them and their designs.
