backlight bleeding (?)

i was just sifting around in the powerbook forum and this guy mentioned what he called 'backlight bleeding', which is the perfect name for somehting i've noticed on my ibook but, er, kinda ignored cos i didn't have a name for it...

in both the bottom corners of my ibook 12 screen there is a patch where the backlight bleeds through, creating corners which are significantly brighter than the rest of the screen and rather washed out as a result. it's not a major issue and i hardly even notice it if i'm actually using the thing rather than just looking at it, but i was wondering if this is normal. i'd post a pic but mr camera is having a bad day.

does everyone else out there get the exact same thing? am i just being stupid?

I've seen it on some iBooks, but not all, most or mine. Just another shining example of Apple's stellar quality control
hmmm...

so do you reckon i could get this looked at under the warranty, perhaps after the next ibook update occurs ? or is that just pushing my luck?
