From what I've heard, Core Image has nothing to do with game performance.

Games are already accelerated via graphics card. 10.3 is not.

Core image is for image processing (not 3D rendering) and other similar applications (photoshop like things). The things that are going to affect WoW performance are improvements in OpenGL.

And it seems to me that Core Image is using OpenGLs pixel shading stuff. I don't have access to the Core Image documentation yet though. Anyone know how it's doing it?

Rumors says 10.3.4/4 for a major OpenGL boost..

If you playing wow with that, then your a crazy man.

I'm in the market for a new machine. I want to make sure whatever I buy can effectivley play WoW. From reading all the blogs, it seems rather dismal on a mac unless you have dual 2.5 with an $450 video card. I am struggling between the powerbook, iBook and the iMac. I was hoping if there was a Tiger boost to WoW, it would become less of a factor in buying a machine. No such luck. I'm going to wait a little longer to see the "new updates" then go from there.

Pathetic, I know. I am making sure I buy a machine capable of handling a game I have never played, but the game looks really cool!

My Powerbook 1.25 15" plays it fine.
