Canon SD500 audio recording (not pleased)...help?
· Troubleshooting · 5 posts · Apr 24, 2005 — May 4, 2005 View original thread ↗
I just purchased a Canon SD500 digital elph mainly for the feature that it can record 640x480 at 30 frames per second which is does, but the audio quality is not near as nice as what I have with my Canon S230 (which records at only 15 frames per second at 640x480 but does an excellent job recording sound).

any thoughts on this?
I've read that this is reported with a few users of the camera. Maybe they downgraded component-wise for audio recording to make room for better picture ability.
? hmm.
It is really awful audio recording quality... I would not recommend this camera just for that... I have went back to using my Canon S230 which has the lower frame rate per second but much better audio.
it is a common problem with all the SD500s. my SD300 does not have that problem.
my SD500 has that whininess to it as well. Oh well, it's a still camera after all.
