Soon to be new Powerbook user

Hello all. I've just recently ordered a new 12" Powerbook. I'm a long time iBook user (since late 2001 with a Late 2001 model). My backlight cable broke and it's rather awkward to work with the angle the display needs to be to work, so I figured this would be a good time to upgrade (although another financial hardship which is why I don't already have one).

I'd have stuck with the iBook for a while long since it does most of the stuff I need to satisfactorily, but it seems slower with all the lastest software I'm using. My drive's probably fragmented, has too much bloat, but it would be so nice to actually have a G4, and not only a G4 but over twice the clockspeed!(600MHz to 1.5GHz! 2.5 times as high clock speed to be exact. ) It would also eliminate my use of an exteranal bluetooth dongle.

I just thought I'd kinda make an introduction since I'll probably be here more than in the iBook forum.
Welcome to PB land. I switched from a 600 meg G3 iBook to a Rev. C 12" Powerbook and am really happy with it.

Welcome to the club. Be sure to get enough ram for it. Then post your setup in the PB thread.
Yes, I've already ordered (and received) a 1GB module. I kinda wish I'd seen that memory thread before purchasing it though.
Be sure to check out the bags and sleeve sticky thread at the top.

I recently bought a waterfield sleeve for my 15", and i love it.
I bought a Willow bag for it a couple of years ago during their going out of business sale. I've been using it with my iBook until I got the Powerbook. Yeah, I've been waiting that long. *Sigh*
It's shipped! Of course, UPS doesn't have it yet, as it's the weekend.
Okay, I received it Tuesday. I partitioned the drive (so my Photoshop/ImageReady work doesn't fragment my drive), upgraded to 10.4, pulled all the info from my old Mac, and created a new user because I was tired of the clutter I'd created with my old profile .

I took pictures of the opening, but you've all seen that yourselves in person or hundreds of times on here already.

It's so quiet! I was worried about reports of the fan being noisy, but it's so much quieter than my iBook's hard drive (but its fan was louder, but has not worked for a couple of years, so I never hear it anymore).
No need to partition. PS work won't fragment your drive. You're not on Windows.
Now you tell me.
