So yea,

not sure if anyone knows for sure if this will work or not. But i would like to install the PNY 512mb RAM i got at compUSA last week for $40 after MIR.

I don't wanna install it until i know for sure it'll work. I know i can return it if it doesn't work, but i don't want it to mess up my iMac.

Also, i know you're only suppose to use apple memory, so will installing this void my warrenty? or is it kinda like if i ever have problems, just remove the PNY ram before sending it in for repairs, and no one will ever know?

If the ram is PC3200 400 mhz unbuffered C3 ram it should work. Go ahead and install it, as it will not hurt anything, it will either work, or it won't. It won't void your warranty. The Mac will either see the ram and use it, or it might not even see it, or it may refuse to boot.
ok cool, thanks
Would there be any benefit to installing C2.5 or even C2 ram in a G5 iMac? I'm currently looking to either upgrade to a pair of 512's or even a pair of 1gb's, and unsure whether it's worth dropping the extra cash for lower latency ram?

Thanks,

- Alex

Not really, the mac uses Pc3200 400 unbuffered c3 ram. Using the lower latency ram won't give you any real benifit, just cost you a bit more. Newegg has some real good buys on ram that works fine in the mac. Corsair 1 gig chips for about $95 and some Rosewell 1 gig chips about $80.
