I'm having a horrible time trying to play WoW over my wireless LAN. Here is the situation: I have a G5 with an Airport Extreme card and WoW has basically become unplayable when I connect wirelessly. Shortly after I launch WoW the Netgear router will usually die completely (I also have a Linksys wireless router, which will die as well). I'll be able to hit its admin page, but nothing on the outside internet. Resetting it solves the issue. All other kinds of browsing and network activity don't cause any problems.
I went through some tests... WoW plays fine over the wireless network using my Dell laptop and a D-Link wireless card. No latency issues and the router behaves. It plays fine when the laptop is hardwired in. It also plays perfectly fine when the G5 is hardwired in. The only time issues arise is when I am playing wirelessly on my Mac. I went through these tests with both routers. So... I've come to the conclusion that the problem is my Aiport Extreme card (or the router(s) for not communicating with it properly).
Is anyone else able to play WoW flawlessly over a wireless connection with an Airport Extreme card and a non-Apple router? I'm thinking I could either get an Aiport Express... or grab some 3rd-party wireless card for the G5. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
