I've been feeling like going out to impulsively buy an Apple laptop since I went on vacation, at time when I really needed one and it wasn't available to me.
That, and the fact that my apartment. is so fricken hot (90 degrees in my room at 12 a.m. in the morning) that I want to spend more time hanging out at the local air-conditioned cafe.
I suspect the overall heat problem of the room has something to do with the fact that the G5's inside my bedroom, and also the fact that it's on the 2nd floor of the townhome.
I already own a 1.8 ghz G5 with plenty of hard drive space. So in essence, aside from portability, I don't really need a powerbook. Of course, I could sell the G5, but it looks like my depreciation hit will be about $700-$800 over the 14 months I've owned it. That feels...kind of high.
I'm trying to sell myself on the idea that I should really just be picking up an 14" iBook for $1400 vs a $2100 15" Powerbook, since I'm not really doing any high end work (though it's likely I'd be doing alot of DVD ripping/copying on the fly) . But at the same time, I am a little partial to the Powerbook's appearance.
What do you guys think?
