is this going to be a sleeper? (I mean when you button it up will the unsuspecting eye know of it?)

And awesome by the way!

thanks man.

oh yeah, the cover fits right over it.

the drive being a zip shuts its self down when not being accessed, so I disable HD sleep from the CP.

the power consumption is questionable, Conner is 250ma@12vdc - 275ma@5vdc

Zip drive is .8a Max @ 5vdc

so i guess if your 12v boost regulator is weak in your back-lit portable, this zip would be a great choice for you.

Got Jaz? }:)

T'would be awesome if you could find the "second floppy" cover, and modify it so that it is a dual-slot Portable.

I agree :)

or maybe if i was really careful, I could slot the cover.

1. I do not have any Japanese saws

2. I might not have the Trained level of precision that trash80 has.

 You only need skillz for working with contoured/complex/crazy surfaces. Anybody can make a jig for flat panel work like that to use with a collar setup on a router table, that's Norm's New Yankee Delta Tool Depot methodology.

Heck, I think I'm going to set that up here to do some Zip and Jaz bezel openings . . .

. . . among other projects. }:)

If you're making new holes, cut out less than you need, and then file it back ;)

8-) do you think I should make a slot?

I'm almost seriously considering it.

Very Nice work - I vote for the slot.

How often do you think you will be removing the disk?

I say leave it inaccessible.

Good point.

i wouldn't do anything unless you get a spare cover. Hack up the spare cover, and you can take it back to stock if needed. Thats my 2 cents.

maybe get olePigeon to print you a new cover :-D
