Welcome to Apple Electrifier!
Apple Electrifier Player is the award-winning web browser plug-in for viewing dynamic, interactive, media-rich web
content created with Electrifier Studio.
Before you install:
Please read these notes before you install Apple Electrifier:
• Apple Electrifier requires the GXGraphics and ColorSync extensions to run. If either extension is disabled or if the
loading order is changed so that ColorSync loads after GXGraphics, Apple Electrifier will not be able to run.
• When you install Apple Electrifier and GXGraphics, your desktop printers may be crossed out if you are using the
Desktop Printing 1.0 extension. Desktop Printing 1.0 is installed with the LaserWriter 8.3.4 driver and some versions of
the StyleWriter drivers. Upgrading to LaserWriter 8.4.1 or later will install Desktop Printing 2.0, which eliminates the
problem. LaserWriter 8.4.1 is available at Apple's Support Information server at <http://www.info.apple.com/>.
• After you install Apple Electrifier and GXGraphics, you may get a message that "QuickDraw GX will not be active because
its printing system is not installed" if you are using the Desktop Printing 1.0 extension. Desktop Printing 1.0 is installed
with the LaserWriter 8.3.4 driver and some versions of the StyleWriter drivers. Upgrading to LaserWriter 8.4.1 or
later will install Desktop Printing 2.0, which eliminates the problem. LaserWriter 8.4.1 is available at Apple's Support
Information server at <http://www.info.apple.com/>.
• After you install Apple Electrifier and GXGraphics, you may get a message that "A GX-capable Adobe Type Manager®
version 3.8.2 or newer must be installed to run under QuickDraw GX. Acrobat Reader will now quit" if you are using
Acrobat Reader 3.0 or earlier. Acrobat Reader displays this error message if GXGraphics is installed and the "private"
version of Adobe Type Manager is installed in the Acrobat folder. You can solve this problem by moving the "~ATM"
control panel from Acrobat's "Fonts" folder to the Control Panels folder, and restarting your computer. Current Apple
Electrifier installers do this automatically for you. The bug should be fixed in Acrobat Reader 3.0.1
