Dash Hansen Opening Text Window

Welcome to the quest! You are Dash Hansen, explorer and botonist. After extensive world- wide research (some of which you've hidden about your house) you hope to finally capture the elusive black orchid. Dash Hansen & The Search for the Black Orchid(Copyright 1988, All rights reserved) is Shareware. Dash Hansen may not be installed on BBS's or other services which charge for membership or access time without the permission of the author. You may not charge a fee for Dash Hansen. To become a registered owner see --about Dash Hansen. All three files must be passed along if you share copies of Dash Hansen. So if you're ready, and know what's what, CLICK Dash's hat, or type "s" and hit return to begin. Otherwise, here's some stuff you need to know. Mostly you can navigate the game with clicking and pull down menus. (hint* sometimes the menus change, and usual menu items are not needed for that scene.) You'll also notice some good keyboard shortcuts on the menus. (hint* You can only use the weapons menu while there's an enemy to fight. ) Sometimes you need to offer something from your pack to gain items or information from your enemy. In that case, type "offer object." example: offer cheese. Typed commands are verb object. example:use key, sit chair. (hint* locked doors always open by typing "use key"--if you have that particular key!) If you think you should be able to do something, but can't, try different verbs i.e. push, shove, move etc. You can pick up most objects by clicking.(hint*Click on anything and everything!) Most scenes will tell you obvious exits. If not, use the "look" command--command key L. (hint* always use the search command--command key F-- when entering a scene) Also, sometimes rooms change when you enter them more than once. (especially by another entrance) so search again! ) You can save games on the Dash Hansen disk; the sound disk is full. You can copy the Dash Hansen file onto a hard disk, but the Dash Hansen sound file MUST be copied onto a floppy disk named D. Hansen Sound,and kept as a file named DH Sound Library.
