Important Notice
Read these instructions be/ore using FileMaker® II files with the
FileMaker Pro application.
Using FileMaker II Files Due to a problem in FileMaker II, some FileMaker II files may have been
with FileMaker Pro inadvertently corrupted during normal use. You may not be able to
determine whether a FileMaker II file has been corrupted when using it
in FileMaker II.
Although this problem has been corrected in FileMaker Pro, FileMaker II
files that have already been corrupted will not work properly in
FileMaker Pro, and may cause you to lose data. If you have FileMaker II
files that you will be using in FileMaker Pro, you can prevent this
problem from occurring by following the procedures below.
1. In FileMaker II, open the FileMaker II file you want to use in FileMaker Pro.
2. Choose Save a Copy from the File menu.
3. In the Save a Copy dialog box, click ucompressed copy (smaller)" and then
click OK.
4. Start up FileMaker Pro, and open the compressed FileMaker II file you
want to use In FileMaker Pro.
The compressed copy of the FileMaker II file is converted to
FileMaker Pro.
Once you have converted a FileMaker II file to FileMaker Pro, you will
not have any problems with corrupted files.
