I have tried to simplify answers to questions that kids have asked me
after showing them HyperCard. Mostly it requires copying a button, field,
or script and pasting it onto the card of the stack that they are working
on. The easiest way to do this is leave this stack open and double click on
their stack so both stacks are open. Make a copy of this stack before
using it. Things can and probably will be accidentally altered. I have tried
to explain if, where, and how the scripts should be edited. I am not that
great at HyperCard but these answers work for my son and I. This stack
is dedicated to Mr. Harro's 5th grade class who are planning to take on
the challenge of building a stack of there own.
Finding different ways to accomplish the same thing will help you find a
way that works best for you. If you need a simpler place to start, get a
copy of "BOOK".(freeware) It's a simple template consisting of a colored
book, fields to type into, a place to draw pictures, and the page turning
buttons. It's a good place to write a story. If you are ready for more,
there are some great shareware HyperCard help stacks by excellent
authors that cover a large amount of techniques in great detail. Here are
the titles of a few real good ones:
"0 Stack Starter ß.979"
"Techniques 4.0"
"Animation Help v.1.03"
"Stack Starter"
"Developer Stack 1.1"
And don't forget your HyperCard did come with a manual.
