Bill Kennedy, Technical Editor, InCider Without exception, every attendee I have talked to feels the first A2-Central Developers Conference at Avila College in Kansas City was a success. The retreat atmosphere was a significant factor in making it so. Cecil Fretwell, Technical Editor, Call Apple ‘As I look back, it was the most positive computer conference | have ever been to and | certainly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the Apple I line. Yes, | had a great time: yes, | learned a lot; yes, | met some outstanding people; and, yes, I'll go back. Al Mattin, Editor, The Road Apple Travel Arrangements DaySpring Travel of Overland Park has arranged conference airfare and hotel discounts. This year} DaySpring can arrange discounted hotel rooms on Kansas City's Country Club Plaza as well as in nearby’ (Overland Park. Call DaySpring at: 800-432-0211 Join us again this year at Kansas City’s Avila College Campus for the A2-Central Summer Conference. Last year’s attendees gave us very high ratings and we want to do even better this year. Weve decided to replace last year’s one-track keynote afternoon with more sessions and more opportunities to meet other conference attendees. Apple Computer, Inc. will once again fully patticipate in the A2-Central conference. A number of sessions will include engineers from Apple, and Apple's Developer Technical Support team will once again be running a Bug-Busting room at the conference. Apple has also agreed to sponsor this year's evening at the ballpark. This year the Royals will be playing the Boston Red Sox. Exhibitors Free exhibit space is available to any conference| attendee by prior arrangment. Let us know your| ispace needs by May 1 NEW! Apple Ilgs College On Thursday, July 19, the day before our summer ‘conference officially begins, Apple will be holding an Apple ligs College at Avila. The cost of the college for conference aitendees Is $100, which indudes meals and a room at Avila Wednesday night. The college will include overview sessions on subjects such as QS/OS and toolbox programming, lab sessions where you'll work on a programming project of your choice, and classes on specific tools. College staff will be available all three days of the conference to help you with your college project. Request for Proposals If you'd like to make a presentation at this year's lconference, please send us a written proposal Include information on your topic, your intended laudience, your equipment needs, and your time| needs. We will notify you whether your proposal for al Isession has been accepted. Each accepted proposal Iwill earn a $200 discount, per session, for the| presenter or presenters. We are primarily interested in sessions that would! be of interest to developers. However, this year we also hope to have a few sessions of more general interest as well. Tell us what youve been up to. Deadline for proposals: May 1 You must register by June 1 to get the best prices. We have 80 double rooms available at Avila on a first- come-first-served double-occupancy basis. Conference prices include all meals from Thursday evening through Sunday morning. If you like, you can pay for the sessions and meals only and make your| own hotel and transportation arrangements. Or you can stay three nights (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) at Avila for an additional $50. And, for $25 more, we will arrange to have you met at the airport and brought directly to Avila and returned.
