Marathon Patcher and Films is a 1995 Info-Mac bundle from Naoki Yokoyama that pairs Marathon Universal Patcher 1.0 with a set of replay films by vidmaster Michio "Miha" Hashimoto, covering all 21 levels of Bungie's original Marathon on the punishing Total Carnage difficulty. The patcher and films ship together because the films can only replay correctly under a patched executable.
Universal Patcher
The patcher applies a configurable set of tweaks to a Marathon application via drag-and-drop. Available patches include a richer initial weapon loadout, increased starting shield value, save-anywhere via a function key or command-P, and an optional invincibility flag.
Miha's Total Carnage films
The bundle includes 21 replay films - one per level - recorded by Miha at Total Carnage difficulty. The author's note bills them as both highly entertaining and "highly instructive about how to survive in Total Carnage" for players studying vidmaster technique.
Why the patcher is required
Because the films were recorded against a patched build, replaying them on an unmodified Marathon desyncs. Yokoyama bundles the patcher specifically so the films play back as recorded; an unpatched-Marathon counterpart set of Miha's films is hosted separately on the AMUG mirror.
